me drying the tears of a 6 year old at work: aw, i’m sorry, that’s rough - but look, you’ll probably feel way better about it once you’ve had a snack
me, responding to my flatmate or partner being anxious: hmm fair but also you’ll probably feel better if you eat something
me, responding to my mum telling me she can’t get past feeling constantly tired: and are you sure you’re eating enough? like, stuff with protein and carbs and fat?
me, forgoing a real dinner to get more stuff done, feeling like shit: by Talos,
there's so many posts for mutuals, but you know what? If you aren't a mutual, I am handing you a lil duck. please take care of them. here's some ice water with some strawberries in it. treat them.
if I ever don’t reblog Obi-Wan’s complete lack of fucks, assume I have perished and have been et by my cat.
@bitheby-13 appreciate the sass
rambling about young royals because i will never shut up about it
ok first of all, the fact that the characters all look like teenagers instead of 30+ y/os playing teenagers. like, edvin (who plays wilhelm) was 17 when they filmed the show, and he looks it! because he is! i know that the rest of the actors for the teenagers are all under 25, which is much better than most other teenage-centered shows. they also act like teenagers! most shows trying to depict that do a weird job of it because it’s a ton of adults trying to connect with à younger audience. but when you actually have younger people on your team, you can be more authentic. it’s so awkward and cringey at times during each episode and though it’s hard to watch, it’s so accurate! also, the fact that most of them have some amount of acne? about fuckin time!! god, it makes me feel so much better about myself that THE main character has acne and not perfectly straight teeth. and it’s not a plot point that gets focused on or anything. wilhelm just has acne, and i doesn’t affect his self esteem or how simon sees him. all the attraction between the two of them is personality-based (minus when wilhelm called simon beautiful lol but that’s a cute moment so uh). they literally never talk about looks once besides when wille is high off his ass. another thing… thank y’all for having mostly healthy communication between characters! sure, there are fights and disagreements and fall-outs, but, at least for simon and wille, they always find a way to talk through whatever issues they’re having, whether it be about their relationship or about what’s happening around them. no matter how many times they might get torn apart, they know that “we’re in this together”, and that’s just amazing. especially for such a young romance. i’m just rambling now but if there are any other topics you think i should talk about, just lemme know and i’ll try to get to them, because this show deserves everything
Young Royals & why I like it..
(now obsessed)
- Casting someone who really has Asperger’s Syndrome to play the character Sara, who has it. Idk about but I find this really a very and the most thoughtful decision the show has taken.
- Female lead characters who are actually good friends and not bitching on each other.
- FINALLY a boarding student is punished for loitering around a night outside school premises.
- Simon saying Wille to take his time to sort himself out and that he RESPECTS it, even while standing there strong and refusing a royal to be his secret lover and not denying his identity. SIMON! KING!
- “I’m not gonna protect the royal family just because the Prince fucks up!” SIMON! KING! x2
- Teenagers not running around murdering people.
- Fellow students being actually understanding when the video got public and not being a tease or bullies, or that would have been a whole other episode
- The main couple or other two character in a relationship DO TALK yk! It thus eliminates a lot of drama..
- Wille’s mother actually never talks about her son’s sexuality and seemed accepting about it, regardless what she told Wille to do. I think that becasue of the pressure of the public and would have told him that even if it were a girl. She went on to compare his son’s relationship with her own and how royal duties tore her and her lover apart
- Pimples.
The ONLY thing I hated is that it ENDED WAY TOO FAST!!
tbh i may be wrong (finishing episode 5 as of now) but i am thankful they didn't make felice and sara's friendship a fake out. i kept expecting the other shoe to drop and they do some sort of fake out where she humiliated sara for being different, but felice is genuinely just a good girl who deserves better
